Jake's has been a family run resort now for three generations. Paul's grandfather Frank "Jake" Colson moved to the Northwest Angle in 1917, opening the resort with his wife Lucy in 1945.

In the mid-30's, Jake established the first post office in the area, and was postmaster until he retired in 1967.

His son Dave, with his wife Celeste, came back to the Northwest Angle with their children, Connie and Paul, in 1972 to become the second generation running the resort.

Paul has been professionally guiding for us since he was 13, and now, Paul and his wife Karen, as well as their threee sons Benjamin, Jacob and Samuel, are deeply involved in Jake's operations.

The resort has been our family's home for over 80 years, and we'd love to share it with you.
