Lake
of the Woods has always been known for muskies, but most of this
attention has been focused on the Morson, Ontario area. Savvy
muskie hunters have been aware of the superior habitat and water
clarity that the central west side of the lake affords. Fishing
pressure is another consideration that can impact your success.
There are very few resorts operating in the Northwest Angle area
and only about three that take muskie fishing seriously. The
very best muskie fishing you can find on Lake of the Woods is
located within 20 miles of the resort, and a great deal of it
is much closer.
Historically, the best times for
muskies are July and mid-fall to freeze-up, the latter being
reserved for only the most serious of hunters who chooses to
challenge the unpredictable weather for an excellent chance of
landing and releasing the fish of his life.
Jake's offers quiet mooring for your boat, no matter
what the weather conditions and you can leave your gear in your boat
with complete confidence. You will appreciate the new floating dock
system with power for each slip.
If you have been looking for innumerable, uncrowded, prime
muskie spots, look no more. |
